Hopewell Downtown Partnership Awards $10k in Grants to Local Businesses

Funding supports small-batch producers & established manufacturers that participated in inaugural ‘Made in Hopewell’ event on Oct. 4

Hopewell, Va. – At the inaugural ‘Made in Hopewell’ Conference and Trade Show on Oct. 4, the Hopewell Downtown Partnership (HDP) was very pleased to present $10,000 in small business grants to six local businesses at the conclusion of the Trade Show. The grantees can use the funds to support the growth of their locally-made products and services.

The funding was made possible through a generous grant from Virginia Main Street, an initiative of the Virginia Department of Housing & Community Development.

Grants Awarded to Small-Batch Producers

  • $3,000 to Woodpeckers Plaques and Crafts

  • $1,000 to Redeemed Woodworking

  • $1,000 to Pittman Custom Guitars

  • $1,000 to Maximizing Your Now

    Grants Awarded to Established Manufacturers

  • $3,000 to Xcellerated Offshore

  • $1,000 to Winndom Mattress

“Made in Hopewell was designed to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit of Hopewell and showcase manufacturing of all sizes and scales,” said Heather Lyne, director of the Hopewell Downtown Partnership. “There was palpable energy at the Conference and Trade Show as attendees learned about emerging technologies and made strong connections that will help their businesses be more successful.”
